How to Create a Location-Based Segment

Overview

You can utilize location-based segments to tailor a form to customers in a given area, execute a specialized campaign by region, or better understand a subset of your subscribers. AVADA Marketing Automation  determines a profile's location by syncing the contact's payment address or tracking their IP geolocation if they have not yet purchased.

Create a country-based segment

When creating a location-based segment, use the filter of Country. Then, you can choose between country or select multiple countries to define this segment.

For example, if you want to create a segment to target customers from the United States, you can scroll down to find United States among countries, or type in the country name in the search box to find it more quickly.

Note that, you can select many countries to make your segment more exclusive, like choosing all countries from the Asia region. And when creating an automated email or SMS campaign, if you want to be more exclusive and exclude some countries, remember to create your segments beforehand.

Create a city-based segment

You can also create a location-based segment by focusing on the subscriber's city. The City filter is right below the Country filter so you won't have any trouble finding it.

After choosing City, you should choose is equal to and write in the name of one or more cities that you want to create a segment.

Create a location-based segment from AVADA presets

You can also choose a default segment to create a location-based segment. Go to Audiences -> Presets and scroll down, you will see two available presets:

Customers based in the USA/Canada: Email subscribers whose countries are either USA or Canada

Customers based in Europe 27 countries: Contacts are from one of the following countries: Sweden, Spain, Slovenia, Slovakia, Romania, Portugal, Poland, Netherlands, Malta, Luxembourg, Lithuania, Latvia, Italy, Ireland, Hungary, Greece, Germany, France, Finland, Estonia, Denmark, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Croatia, Bulgaria, Belgium, Austria
